Within the framework of reparation shipbuilding, 400-horsepower paddle-wheel tugboats and DUNAJ-type paddle-wheel passenger steamships were built here for the Soviet order. In addition, two Danube ocean-going motor ships (ex-KOMÁROM and ex-SZOLNOK) were completed and handed over to the Soviets here, and several of the half-finished SME (Schwarzmeer-Einheitsschiff) motor ships built at the DDSG shipyard in Korneuburg were completed at Óbuda Shipyard as Soviet and Romanian reparations. However, the shipyard work
was aimed at increasing production, as the ships were not built with nautical advantages or cost-effective construction in mind. Shipbuilding was subordinated to Soviet needs and the economic policy of the CEEC.
