SHIPBUILDING

The performance of Hungarian river shipbuilding was at its peak at the turn of the century, but it increasingly lagged behind the volume of railway vehicle production. This is indicated by the fact that in 1898, 9 shipbuilding sites produced 4,039,030 crowns, while the performance of Hungarian locomotive production, including railway carriages, was 38,687,786 crowns.

The handover of the electric-powered floating dock built in Óbuda in 1895 was of great importance in terms of accelerating ship repair work, as the nearest floating dock was in Galac. The Company was present in all segments of the shipping service as a service provider and as such it had to solve the operation of ship units built according to the most diverse needs. In addition to tugboats and passenger steamers, the Company supplied the local shipping services of Vienna and Budapest with, for example, bow and stern rudders, shallow-draft shuttle boats.
